Do the thing. Do it now. QFA.
This pretty much sums up this whole road trip thing. Not to get too deep on the first post, but really friends, all we have is THIS MOMENT. If there's something you want to do, do it NOW. If there's something you want to say, say it NOW. One of these days, tomorrow isn't going to happen, so QFA (Quit Fucking Around).
No, I'm not dying (well, we're all dying), and no, the cancer isn't back (as far as I know, anyway). Stop getting all morbid.
I've been nomadic ever since I left Greene County, NY for college back in 1989. Whether it was chasing another degree, finding a new city and job to conquer, ditching the city for a job in a mountain town, or pursuing a career in the military, I have always been energized to see as many new places and have as many new experiences as I can cram into my time on earth.
Once I discovered Ouray, I thought that maybe this was it - that my nomadic time had come to an end. I mean, really, have you seen Ouray? Who in their right mind would choose to leave there??
There is no doubt that Ouray/Ridgway is home. There is also no doubt that I will always want to keep exploring; keep experiencing new things and new places; keep meeting new people. My "tribe" is in Ouray/Ridgway, and I will always return to them and that amazingly beautiful and unique place. But for the next ten months or so, I will be filling my cup with all the new experiences and people and places that make my soul sing.
